Montana/Idaho

This summer I took a road trip to Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. Obviously no surfing was done on this trip, but there were some great photo opportunities. In Yellowstone, I saw buffalo, bear, antelope, and moose. In Wyoming I went to the Buffalo Bill Cody museum. Montana is one place I had yet to visit that had been high on my list. About Montana John Steinbeck said: "It seems to me that Montana is a great splash of grandeur. The land is rich with grass and color, and the mountains are the kind I would create if mountains were ever put on my agenda... I am in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection, but with Montana it is love, and it's difficult to analyze love when you're in it." I would agree with Steinbeck after visiting. I had high expectations of Montana but it lived up to them. I think Montana with its small towns and friendly people represent the best part of our country. And I didn't see it at its full potential. There were a lot of fires this summer so you couldn't see as far as usual in "big sky country".
